Saint John de Avila’s house

Town: Montilla

The master Saint John de Ávila lived in this house his last 17 years, he died here in 1569. When he arrived to Montilla, called by the Marquis of Priego, he refused to live in their palace, so he was offered this nearby house. Nowadays, his house is practically intact as in the 16th century, keeping 16th, 17th and 18th relics, sculptures and paintings.
