This small hermitage was built on top of an old one, extremely damaged after the Lisbon earthquake. In 1766, the foundations were reconstructed as well as the alter pieces and the current chapel of Christ at the column.

Located at 7km away from the town, it is located on top of a small hill next to the Carchena stream. Some vestiges from the previous fortress are preserved, such as the wall and some towers.
