Puente Genil has three small mountain ranges: Castillo Mountains, Gorda Mountains and Niño Mountains. They are made of limestone, giving grey colour to the land. Brush vegetation is abundant in this area because the farmers were not able to plant olive trees due to the rocky land. Castillo Mountains are the largest ones where an Arabic castle is located.
