This archeological site shows the characteristics and evolution of a medieval castle that played a key role in Castilian and Andalusian History. This hill also shows the origins of the population, back to the Chalcolithic period. It was the centre of a rich region as episcopal siege (306 BC), later main fortress of the iqlim[from Arabic, region] Bulay, 9th century, and main city of Aguilar Lords (from 13th century). Finally, this strategic position was lost after the conquest of Granada.
